We’ll spend 3 days in the saddle, cycling 224 miles from capital to capital. Our journey begins at the iconic Tower Bridge and finishes at the spectacular Eiffel Tower.
The days in the saddle may be long but the sense of achievement we’ll feel crossing the finish line and the euphoric atmosphere as we celebrate our achievements in this magnificent capital, the saddle soreness soon wears off!
Itinerary
Day 1 -
8am - We meet at Potters Field Park, London in the shadow of the iconic Tower Bridge and with views across the Thames of the Tower of London. After team briefing and start line photos we will set off on our 224 mile adventure to Paris.
The first part of our journey on day 1 will take us on a nice easy ride down through South London on the cycling superhighway until we reach the M25. It is here where the challenge really begins with 683ft in ascents to the village of Bletchingly where we stop for lunch.
The second part of our journey will take us over the undulating terrain of the South Downs, through the historic town of Lewes and onto Newhaven.
Approx 6pm - We should arrive in Newhaven after completing 68 miles and 3,405ft in ascents. You will then have 4 hours at your leisure to eat and rest your legs before boarding the ferry and retiring to your cabin for the night at around 10:30pm
Day 2
5am - We arrive in Dieppe and our French adventure begins. Even though it's a very early start you won't care as your excitement and adrenaline for the day ahead will have you raring to go. The first few hours of day 2 are an absolute pleasure as we cruise along the Avenue Verte, a 25 mile car free cycle path with a gradual gradient that all most goes unnoticed, taking in the beautiful French countryside and quaint villages.
After stopping for a food break in Gourney en Brey we come to the end of the Avenue Verte and the cycling challenge cranks up a gear as we take on some big climbs on our way up to the beautiful French town of Gisors and our accommodation for the night at a comfortable hotel.
Approx 5pm - After 76.5 miles and 2723ft in ascents on day 2 we will arrive in Gisors. After checking into the hotel the evening is then at your leisure to enjoy some French Cuisine and have a well deserved drink.
Day 3
9am - After breakfast we are ready to hit the road one last time with the Eiffle Tower just 80 miles away. The morning takes us on a few challenging climbs as we ride through the Regional du Vexin Wildlife Park and onto the outskirts of Paris. We then head down past the Palace of Versailles and into Parc du Pre Saint Jean, high above Paris where you get your first spectacular glimpse of the city. With just 6 miles to go we then head down onto the bustling streets of Paris before finally completing our ride at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
Approx 5pm - On arriving at the Eiffel Tower we will have time to celebrate our achievement, take in the moment and of course get plenty of photos at the finish line
Approx 6pm - We will check in at our hotel for the night and then the evening is at your leisure to enjoy the sights of Paris and have a well deserved celebratory drink.
